[Acupoint Lieque]above the styloid process of radius, and 1.5 cun above the wrist transverse stripes.

Meaning: Lie: arrangement   que: depression

Point: LU7

Location:

On the upper edge of the styloid process of the radius, 1.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist between the brachioradial muscle and the tendon of the long abductor muscle of the thumb.

Indication

1. Respiratory disorder: cough , asthma, shortness of breathe, nasal obstruction.

2. 2. Other disorder: Headache, neck stiffness, toothache, swollen and painful throat, facial palsy

3. 3. Local disorder: wrist pain, carpal tunnel syndrome. Important point for thumb disorder.

[Acupoint Futu] 

Meaning: Fu: side  Tu: prominence

Tu refers to the laryngeal prominence. Futu is beside the Adam’s Apple.

Point: LI-18

Location :

On the lateral side of the neck, level with the tip of the laryngeal prominence, between the sternal and clavicular heads of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.

Functions:

1. Benefit/disinhibit the throat; beneficial for various disorders in throat region like throat pain, tonsilitis, scrofula and goiter; thyroid problems, Hiccups.

4. Eliminate phlegm lodged in channel : scrofula and goiter.

5. Acupuncture anesthesia – surgery for thyroid or chest.
